Our clients were absolutely thrilled with the design aspects and the quality of the finish of their home at hand over. There was a degree of apprehension when they first came to see us, as they were uncertain as to whether we would be able to maximise the main feature of the block, which was the ocean views to the rear of Rottnest and North to Ocean Reef. Apart from wanting us to capture those views, they also wanted as many rooms as possible to be facing in that direction.
Firstly, we had to lift the level of the home as much as the R Codes would allow for, taking into consideration both overlooking and overshadowing. A thorough knowledge of these code requirements and restrictions are a critical factor when having your home designed, particularly on a challenging site, and so it was vital that we were able to demonstrate our expertise. We are extremely competent and efficient in this field, as we have vast experience dealing with Planning Departments, and are used to liaising with them daily.
We designed the home with a wide entry lobby leading into a huge living room and kitchen which stretched across the full width of the rear of the home. Another must-have for our clients was enough space to accommodate a 10-seater dining table as they enjoyed entertaining frequently. The alfresco area and full width of the home was made easily accessible through wide sliding glass doors with seamless sills for ease of transition without tripping. The result was truly outstanding, highlighted by unique features such as an all-white kitchen with a waterfall marble island bench.
No compromises were made when it came to the upstairs master bedroom with a spacious dressing room and fully equipped ensuite to complement it. We incorporated a balcony off the master bedroom with an upstairs living room which certainly added a very useful and enjoyable feature to the home considering the views it took in. We included an additional three double bedrooms with a study nook to the upper floor plan.
We really maximised every aspect of this sloping block with unique additions such as teared rock terraces capturing views from the patio down to the exquisite pool which really added character to this home.
