Having grown up in Sorrento, our clients did not want to leave the neighbourhood they loved. They had long-time friends living close by, and a fondness and familiarity for their suburb. Another factor to consider was that they had a growing young family and required more living space, and their children were established at nearby schools. In this case, demolishing and building was the best solution.

We set about designing a home that not only satisfied their immediate needs, but would also cater for their children in the teenage years ahead, when zoning and study areas would be of utmost importance.

Our clients wanted their home to reflect the feel of the area. We undertook the challenge of this prominent, sloping corner block with passion, addressing both street frontages while still managing to capture ocean glimpses from both the front and rear balconies.

We designed their home with a Hamptons style look utilising stone and weatherboard to convey a beachy, casual theme. An existing swimming pool was cleverly integrated into the design as a bonus. We also provided a large spacious balcony on the first floor which made the most of the views of the ocean, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on hot summer evenings.

Our clients were particularly pleased with the attention to detail in the finish of their home, as well as the helpful advice they were given during the design process and the efficient way in which the home was built. The result was a well zoned home with that “Beachy Casual” look that certainly captures the feel of the area.
